I was born in Oakland, California, and lived there for 5 years before moving to a new city every year for the next 5 years. My family and I finally settled down in Madera, California, and we have lived in the Valley ever since. I plan on moving back to Oakland when I have the opportunity so I can live closer to my other family members. I like to travel to places I’ve never been before. One summer I went to 17 different beaches, which doesn’t seem like a lot but it was to me at the time, and I had so much fun. I’ve also been to Honolulu for my 18th birthday with my cousin and a friend. We stayed for a week and I got to see a sea turtle up close in the ocean!  I eventually want to backpack through Europe for two months so I can have a chance to learn about art and culture in different parts of the world. I also love to cook and bake. I think it’s fun to come up with new recipe ideas or to improve on the ones I’ve made before. I believe that trying new things and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone will only help you get to know yourself and the world around you better.
